Our Story

Family-Run, Locally Loved, Once in a Lifetime Experiences

Meet Captain Bill

The Manta & Snorkel Co – Kona is a proud, family-owned business rooted in a deep love for the ocean. Our founder, Bill—affectionately known as “Captain Bill”—has been leading boat tours for nearly 25 years. His passion for marine life and unwavering commitment to safety have earned him a trusted reputation within the Kona community. When you join us on the water, you’re not just booking a tour—you’re joining a legacy of ocean adventures.

Our Journey & Values

What began as a small, intimate operation has blossomed into one of Kona’s most sought-after marine experiences. As demand grew, we first invested in a larger, custom 39’ vessel to enhance comfort, safety, and performance — a major step that allowed us to elevate the guest experience without losing our personal touch.

Now, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve added a second boat, launching in November 2025, which will double our capacity and allow more guests to experience the magic of Kona’s waters. Despite the growth, our commitment to intimacy remains unchanged — each vessel is still limited to just six guests, offering the smallest and most exclusive group size of any local operator.

At The Manta & Snorkel Co – Kona, we’re committed to:

  • Delivering Unforgettable Experiences: Every tour is designed to showcase the magic of Hawaii’s underwater world.

  • Preserving Kona’s Marine Life: We prioritize eco-friendly practices to protect the delicate marine ecosystem.

  • Ensuring Safety & Comfort: Our expert guides are dedicated to making your journey both safe and enjoyable.
